We have all heard of the FIFA world cup, and even those least interested in football got swept away by the festivities that revolve around the tournament. Traditionally, the cup is hosted by a different country each season, and in a new but very welcomed turn, an Arab Muslim country has been honored with hosting this magnificent event. And Qatar did not disappoint. Unlike the past opening cup ceremonies, the opening show of Qatar was recorded in history in golden letters. But what made Qatar's opening ceremony such a unique celebration that took the world by storm?The opening show of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is one of the most fascinating ceremonies in history.
The first panels of the opening ceremony heavily focused on the concept of unity between nations. The ceremony began with an inspirational video, and a fetus was shown on screen. Then, a big white whale appeared swimming through times and nations, much to the confusion of the crowd. As they observed, they began to realize the deep symbolism that is being portrayed. The white whale is one of the earth's oldest animals, one which has been present since the beginning of mankind and has witnessed how it was once one tribe that now is divided into multiple nations. They were dressed in traditional attire and singing "the calling of nations' ' in Arabic, welcoming people graciously to accept their hospitality. Finally,After the video was done, the audience moved their eyes to the stage where a group of Qatari women was.a small figure walked through the state. He was the YouTuber and advocate for special needs people, Ghanim Al- He sat down next to Morgan Freeman, a famous American actor, and delivered some of the most beautiful speeches that had ever been televised, quoting the holy Quran about how people are of the same origin even if their cultures and beliefs differ .
Spherical nostalgia and dreamers are the panels that have expressed the need to stick to the roots but still look out for the future. This is the next concept the opening ceremony focused on. The panel commemorated the past mascots of the world cup and brought nostalgia to the crowd. Everyone was jumping and dancing as they watched their country's spell on stage, figures like Zabivaka 2018, Fuleco 2014, and Zakumi 2010, and much more. As the other mascots left, Laeeb started peeking from below the stage and slowly ascending, facing the cheering crowd. Laeeb is the official mascot of The FIFA World Cup this year. He was the showcase of this committee, and although it was not stated explicitly,His appearance emulates a “ghutra”, a traditional Arab cloth worn by Qatari men.he had the ability to travel through the memories of the previous tournaments and talk to the past. And from underneath Laeeb, on stage, were the Korean singer "Jeon Jungkook" from BTS, and the Qatari sensation "Fahad Al-kubaisi" presenting the last panel, Dreamers. After that phenomenal performance, the prince of Qatar, "Sheikh Tamim-bin-Hamad the second", rose to deliver his speech. He said that his country has made a big effort to organize one of the most successful tournaments in the history of the world cup, and he expressed his hope that the whole world will enjoy this football festival in the land of Doha. He also said how this event gathered people of all nationalities and beliefs. and how lovely it is that people can put aside what divides them all together at once. After that, Fifa president, "Gianni Infantino" welcomed all the attendees in more than one language, including Arabic, wishing success to all the participating teams.
